Arturo Ruiz

Fundraising Manager

 

Mr. Arturo Ruiz has a graduate degree with honors from California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) in Criminal Justice and is an entrepreneur who has owned several mortgage and marketing companies early in his career. Arturo has come aboard Men in Transition to help with the very difficult task of fundraising. Arturo involvement with the criminal justice system has given him a heart for the incarcerated and that’s why he wanted to be a part of our mission to help the post incarcerated successfully reintegrate back into society and never return to prison.

Bill Donohoo

Board Member


Bill Donohoo is a businessman who spent 40 years in managerial and executive  positions. Upon retirement he began a second career working 16 years as a professor in the California State University system teaching Entrepreneurship and Business Strategy.

 

Mr. Donohoo has a Master Degree in Business from Harvard University and has done volunteer work for over 50 years. He worked as a big brother in the Big Brothers organization in Boston while he attended Harvard Business School. He led Bible studies and taught classes in church and home Bible studies for nearly 60 years.  He worked as a volunteer in the Christian Cursillo Ministry for nearly a decade and has spent 33 years in active prison ministry. He is an Elder in the Presbyterian Church and served as head of their Board of Directors.  He also served as Treasurer for the Presbyterian of Presbyterian Camps and Conference Centers.

Dan Burley

Co Founder / Board Member

Dan Burley has spent 13 years in Prison Ministry and served in a leadership position as the Chairman of Kairos Prison Ministry – California City Chapter. Kairos is an International Prison Ministry that creates a Christian community inside the prison with a proven program that reduces recidivism rate. Under Mr. Burley leadership, Kairos California City has become one of the leading prison ministries in California.

 

Mr. Burley is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University (Cal Poly), Pomona with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. Dan is an Airline Transport Rated Pilot, licensed flight instructor and former charter pilot. Mr. Burley also is Program Coordinator for a non-profit organization dedicated to helping young adults live a successful life in long term recovery from drugs and alcohol. 

Marty Herrmann

Marty Herrmann

Martin (Marty) Herrmann is currently living in California, but was born in Wisconsin.  He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Management and Human Resources from California State Polytechnic University (Cal Poly), Pomona. Marty originally worked in the private retail and service sector for about twelve years and is completing twenty years of employment working different administrative positions in the government sector for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in Orange County, California.

 

Marty has been actively involved supporting overseas missions work at Mount of Olives Church in Mission Viejo, California, for 11 years and served with his wife in the Orange County Jail Ministry (Gleaners) for 7 years and with Kairos Prison Ministry for more than 5 years.  Marty served as a big brother for a time mentoring with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Orange County. Marty served eight years in the United States Naval Reserve and was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He has been married to his wife, Carla, for over 25 years and has one daughter, Sarah.
